“Every piece of software has its downsides. With Trados Studio the most irritating fact is that it insists on making a difference between so-called variances of languages. So English does not exist, British English and US English (and many other types) do. The same goes for Spanish, Dutch, French, etc.
So if you get a tagged file like TTX which has EN-UK into NL-BE but your TM is EN-US into NL-NL, then you cannot use that memory. For some unknown reason there is no way to deactivate this so that only the main language is taken into consideration. The person at Trados who decided this must have been the greatest language moron …”
